Purpose: The purpose of this presentation is to showcase the LGBTQ+ Curriculum Toolkit for Educators of Healthcare Professionals and demonstrate content integration in a variety of delivery formats. This interprofessional education resource provides practical strategies for educators of future healthcare professionals to integrate person-centered curriculum content in the care of LGBTQ+ populations.   
Objectives
1.) Review recommendations for inclusion of LGBTQ+ curriculum content in healthcare provider education programs
2.) Discuss barriers to integration of LGBTQ+ curriculum content in nursing education programs
3.) Investigate resources for integration of LGBTQ+ curriculum content in healthcare provider education programs
4.) Devise a plan to incorporate person-centered educational strategies in existing curricula
5.) Incorporate evaluation strategies to make recommendations for LGBTQ+ curriculum inclusion

Presenter: 

Kathy Andresen DNP, MPH, RN, CNE

Dr. Andresen is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of West Florida. She has been a nurse educator since 2009 and has served in a number of program development and leadership positions throughout her 30+ years in nursing, the majority in community-based settings. She teaches in both undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of courses including public health, health promotion, leadership and evidence-based practice. She earned a DNP from Rush University in 2011 and a Master of Public Health in 2022. The focus of her scholarly work has been on workforce development and integrating best practices for interprofessional education.  The LGBTQ+ Curriculum Toolkit for Educators of Healthcare Professionals is a passion of hers that merges her education and nursing expertise.
