Archives Committee
- Collaborate with Archivist at Barbara Bates Center on best approaches for documenting ACHNE's contributions and the role of PHNs.
- Transfer previously missing critical documents from 2010-20 to ACHNE’s collection at Barbara Bates Center
- Implement new archiving procedure with ACHNE Secretary and management company for annual document transfer to Barbara Bates Center
- Interview 2 Past Presidents using revised script
- Mentor at least 1 student in process of interviewing Past Presidents

Awards Committee
- Member education through continued reports and information via the web and email.
- Yearly review of actual awards given to determine if awards are appropriate (fitting and attractive) and economical (reasonable).
- Encourage members to nominate students for student awards for more exposure to the student population.
- Work closely with committee members with ongoing communication.
- Recruit one current member to become chair one year prior to current chair leaving and mentor in all activities.
- Identify needs or questions from members that apply to nominating people for appropriate awards and add to/change current information and instructions.
- Make sure members know that the committee is available to answer questions.
- Recruit members for the committee annually at the Annual Institute with current members offering input as to their roles.
- Provide the format and means for honoring nurses in areas of public health nursing: education, research, service, and practice.
- Encourage new students in graduate education related to public health nursing by offering a membership.

Communications Committee
- Support and promote new website.
- Increase promotion of ACHNE, by creating communication that will recruit new members, and by increasing communication that promotes ACHNE activities.
- Through ACHNE newsletters, which are to be published 3 times per year, we will increase communication with membership about ACHNE, committees, and newsworthy items.
- Create a YouTube production that will:
- provide an overview of ACHNE and value of membership.
- increase awareness and promote ACHNE.
- For all members of communications committee, will:
- Hold monthly conference calls.
- Seek engagement and ideas from all committee members.
- Welcome new members.
- Currently 2 co-chairs for the committee.
- Co-chairs and editor work on newsletter.
- One additional editor is available as needed.
- In newsletters: A newsworthy piece is included in each newsletter with latest info about public health and public health nursing. This type of article is being promoted and requested from members.

Culture, Race, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Enhancing Belonging Committee (CREIDE)

Purpose:
To promote the elimination of Health Disparities, awareness of Social Determinants of Health and contribute to the advancement of health equity and inclusion through active learning workshops, interprofessional collaborations and community partnerships.
Membership:
The Chairperson or co-chairs are selected by the committee and approved by the Board of Directors. Other members who have an interest in cultural and racial competence/humility, diversity, equity and inclusion and belonging can self-select to join the committee.
Functions:
- Develop The Culture, Race, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Enhancing Belonging Committee (CREIDE) initiatives for ACHNE and recommend to the Board of Directors
- Sponsor CREIDE themed oral or poster presentations at the ACHNE Annual Institute
- Develop/review and recommend resources and competencies for teaching about health disparities and CREIDE initiatives in community/public health nursing practice.
- Reviews the healthcare data, health policies, resources and makes evidence-based recommendations to promote health equity for underserved populations
- Facilitates the ACHNE continuing efforts to encourage a culture of equity in health care through education, advocacy, engagement, and empowerment of Nurse Educators, Health Care Organizations, and Public Health Providers.
Annual Schedule of Activities:
- January: Collaborate with the planning committee.
- Review submitted abstracts.
- Prepare the Year End CREIDE Committee Activities Report.
- March:
- Review healthcare data, health policies, resources and make evidence-based recommendations to promote health equity
- Prepare any updated resources for CREIDE to present as a plenary at the Annual Conference.
- June: Annual Meeting
- CREIDE Committee meets at Annual Meeting.
- Report of activities presented to the Board of Directors.
- September: Work with the Annual Institute Planning Committee.
- Develop a plenary presentation at the Annual Institute.
- November/December: Submit midyear report for midyear meeting.
- Attend the midyear meeting of ACHNE.
- Sponsor CREIDE presentations at the ACHNE Annual Institute
Meeting Schedule:
Meetings should occur quarterly, ensuring that at least one meeting occurs prior to the call for abstracts for ACHNE’s annual conference and at the annual conference. Conference call/email contact as deemed necessary by Chair.

Education Committee
- Determine best practices for communicating innovative teaching strategies and other education committee related resources.
- Develop materials for distribution to the general membership including a list of Innovative Teaching Strategies and other education resources.
- Offer mentoring services for members seeking guidance on development of innovative teaching strategies or other education projects.
- Draft a position paper regarding inclusion of Population Health/PHN concepts in the BSN, MSN, and DNP Essentials.

Finance Committee
- Reviewing the monthly budgets and investments accounts and planning and overseeing the yearly budget.
- The FC supports the different committees to have their request for financial resources met to fulfill their goals.
- The FC will support the membership committee for membership developing and mentoring to provide them with the needed financial resources.

- FC proposes a membership scholarship for one or two non-academic PHN(s).
Membership Committee
- Review and expand engagement with general membership to promote long-term retention.
- Engage student members to promote general membership.
Nominating Committee
- Explore social media (Twitter, Facebook) within the planned organizational web page as a means of communicating information about ACHNE leadership opportunities.
- Develop a consistent repository for documents (checklists, letter templates, minutes, previous reports) used by the committee including development of a guide for the chairperson.
- Improve process and accountability for obtaining candidate information and contacting candidates after election.
- To implement an on-line process for accepting leadership nominations.
- Explore use of forums within other national nursing organizations (AACN, STTI, NLN) to promote involvement and engagement.
Policy Committee
Promote the advancement of timely public health issues and priorities, particularly as they relate to the educational needs of nursing students.
- Represent ACHNE on Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) and make recommendations to ACHNE BOD
- Communicate with key partners (Quad Council members AHNE, APHN, PHN section of APHA) to discuss policy issues and collaborate on recommendations and/or action plans
- Write or solicit policy positions on behalf of ACHNE- write briefs, work with partner organizations (APHN, PHN section APHA, AACN, NACNEP, etc.)
- Sponsor policy session at Annual Institute
- Develop annual policy focus/legislative priorities for ACHNE and recommend to Board of Directors
- Lobbying/advocacy for policy positions in collaboration with APHA - for example, if APHA supports, ACHNE could support and encourage member advocacy
- Develop or use advocacy tool kit; advocacy based on geographic or location
- Develop/review and recommend resources for teaching health policy to students
- Initiate a social media platform to enhance the speed and effectiveness of information distribution.

Program Committee
- Operationalize the timeline for the program committee to be placed in the operations manual to guide the program committee.
- Use the Program Committee timeline in the Operations Manual- task assignments, to complete work and to address and determine the role of ACHNE management in providing needed resources and requests for support.
- Plan and execute quality AI’s based on yearly AI evaluation surveys and continue to plan joint conferences with related organizations, such as APHN.
- Provide an evaluation survey at AI registration desk to ask attendees who would like to be matched with another member for mentoring re: to ACHNE involvement online and at AI.
- Create strategies to increase numbers of students joining ACHNE and registering at conferences by 50%.
- Identify nursing schools near the location of each Annual Institute. Send special invitations to students to attend the AI.Offer students a reduced registration fee with discounts for four or more students attending from the same school.
- Collaborate with external nursing agencies-such as AONE, to design and implement mentoring and leadership programs with presentations at each AI.
- Collaborate with other PH partners, such government, school health nurses and the global nursing community as examples, for the development of the AI conference in 2017.

Research Committee
The Research Committee meets monthly via conference call to:
- Promote innovative academic practice partnerships
- Increase ACHNE and its members’ involvement in public health policy
- Initiate recruitment, engagement, and retention to better reflect diversity in membership
- Communicate and rapidly respond to issues consistent with the mission and promoting a unified voice for ACHNE
- Establish a mechanism for mentorship internal and external to the organization related to public health nursing
